Schools are the heart and soul of the ASB Polyfest. They provide the groups, the performers and the speech makers at the festival. Auckland Secondary Schools come from as far north as Mahurangi to Wesley and Tuakau Colleges in the south.
There are sometimes guest groups from outer regions and also overseas that perform at the Festival. This is at the discretion of the stage coordinator concerned and it is that schools responsibility to contact the ASB Polyfest and request to perform.
Our host school for 2010 is Sir Edmund Hillary Collegiate who are hosting for the 5th time, they are committed to ensuring that the festival continues to develop with new initiatives planned for 2011 is to be confirmed shortly.
The key communication link for schools is the School Liaison – Mele Utumoengalu – schools@asbpolyfest.co.nz. She will communicate directly with the school Cultural Group Coordinator (CGC). It is the role of the CGC to ensure that communication is fed to all their specific cultural groups. Each school allocates a TIC and tutor/s to each cultural group.
School Media Authorisation
Schools will need to nominate one person per stage to take photos and video of performances. Schools Media Authorisation forms can be downloaded here.
